In the breathtaking Pyrenees mountains, between Spain and France we journey through the eyes of the lammergeier, a majestic bird facing the challenges of survival. This film captures the struggles of the lammergeier as it navigates a world dominated by scavenging bird competitors like the cinereous vulture, griffon vulture, Egyptian vulture and even other scavenger mammals. Through intimate storytelling and breathtaking cinematography, we explore the intricate hierarchy among these species during feeding times, highlighting the
lammergeier’s resilience and adaptability. Witness the delicate balance of nature as the lammergeier strives to thrive in its rugged habitat.

ABOUT THE FILMMAKER

Juan de la Cueva is a trilingual (Spanish, English and French) wildlife cinematographer, certified professional STS 01/02 EU, CAA UK and FAA Part 107 US drone pilot (FPV and stabilized) and PADI Advanced Open Water Diver. His most recents international Camera TV credits include an upcoming NDA blue-chip wildlife series (Camera, shot on RED Raptor VV – BBC NHU for NatGeo / Disney +), My Wild Cats: My European Cats (Camera and drone, shot on RED HELIUM 8K and GEMINI 5K, DJI Inspire 2 for arte), Europe’s Wildest Heritage (Camera, shot on Sony FS7 for arte), Los Pilares del Tiempo (Drone, Shot on DJI Mavic 3 Cine Pro for TVE) and another NDA wildlife series not broadcasted yet (Camera, shot on Panasonic Varicam 35). He developed a very strong passion for documenting the natural world since a very early age thanks to his constant contact with nature in the Pyrenees Mountains as well as the influence of the Spanish wildlife presenter and naturalist Felix Rodríguez de la Fuente.
