Our Mission: We are a non-profit all-volunteer-based 501(c)(3) rescue located in Malibu California. We are a dog and cat rescue that is committed to taking on cases such as severe medical, trauma, behavioral cases, and animals needing hospice care.
We were founded in 2017 after many visits to the shelters left us hopeless for the dogs and cats that needed rescuing the most. Although the shelters do an amazing job at helping the animals that come through the shelter system, the high volume of intake leaves them with no choice but to constantly make room for the influx which means humane euthanasia, even for the friendliest of animals.
We commit our resources and time to find homes for animals that are truly vulnerable and otherwise may not get their second chance at a fur-ever life.
We also believe that no animal should be surrendered to the shelter due to loving owners not being able to provide life-saving surgery, or medical care so we have allocated a portion of our funds to sponsoring medical care for animals in need.
Boomer is our inspiration for the rescue. His story begins in a shelter in Florida, where our founder Jessica Davis found him after he had been in there for four long years. He was constantly passed over by potential adopters due to the behavior he was demonstrating in the shelter. After having been in a cage for so long, Boomer was suffering from kennel crazy. He was acting aggressively towards strangers, constantly spinning in circles, and barking loudly, but little did anyone know that he was just scared and frustrated. He was desperately crying for attention and just an ounce of love. Jessica saw this and knew that he couldn’t spend one more day in the shelter. So, she flew out to Florida from California to adopt him, and since then Boomer has come a long way! He has proven to be a loving boy who is a complete joy and a perfect addition to Jessica’s family. With foster kittens and dogs endlessly in and out of Jessica’s home, Boomer has shown just how loving he can be. He welcomes each and every new rescue with open paws! Hence, Boomer’s Buddies! Boomer and Jessica go on countless adventures to make up for the long time Boomer was in the shelter. Boomer is the true meaning of shelter animals just needing a chance to prove how amazing and loyal they can be!
Jessica has spent her childhood and adult life helping animals in need. She has volunteered her time at various animal sanctuaries across the world, learning how to better protect the animals, and the environment they call home. A trip to Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai Thailand, changed her life and Jessica knew she had to follow her passion for fighting and saving animals locally in Los Angeles CA and be an advocate for animals worldwide.
