Over and Above Africa protects and defends endangered wildlife in Africa, and the communities they impact. This extends to rangers and their families and the veterinarians on the frontline of the poaching crisis.
We have projects in eight African countries, which range in size from surgical costs of triaging animals, providing clean water systems for remote rangers in Kenya, lion, cheetah and pangolin rehabilitation and relocation programs, elephant herd translocation to safety, bicycles for rangers in the far northern Kruger, clean up of Lake Ossa, funding an all female sustainability and ecological project in the Ontulili Region of Kenya, to our most recent, a state of the art, solar powered, wildlife rehabilitation center in Nelspruit, South Africa. All are on our website under “projects” for your viewing pleasure!
We are an all-volunteer organization of nature lovers who want to be part of the global solution at preventing more extinction. Now in our 9th year, we are founded by a career filmmaker, which enables us to create short form videos of all our completed projects. We then share the videos with our donors, partners and supporters for global awareness of the challenges facing Africa’s vulnerable wildlife.
We would love for you to join us in our efforts and passions to protect Africa’s iconic species, and the communities they impact.
“I found out about the commercial poaching crisis in Africa and Asia in 2015. Once I knew, I could no longer look away and that day, committed to be a part of the solution to protect endangered wildlife in whatever way I could.
That was the genesis of my deciding to launch Over and Above Africa. I had a singular thought that if I provided the platform to help not just the wildlife, but the vital communities that were impacted, through interesting and varied projects, and make short videos of all the projects – that perhaps other volunteers would want to participate too. And they did! In 2025 we’ll be ten years old! That speaks volumes about the kind and generous hearts who have contributed to all of our projects over the years. We still have a long way to go before our beloved and iconic endangered animals are safe from extinction – but we’re in it for the long haul and we really hope you’ll join us!”
